LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Thursday that the team has released 19-year-old defenseman Scott Allan.

The Thornton, Colorado product was acquired at the 2014-2015 Western Hockey League trade deadline from the Seattle Thunderbirds. Allan appeared in 31 games with the Hurricanes last year collecting one assist along with 33 penalty minutes.

With the move, the Hurricanes now have a total of 25 players on their roster including two goaltenders, eight defenseman and 15 forwards as they head into Friday’s season opener.

The Hurricanes host the rival Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday at the ENMAX Centre in the Dairy Queen Home Opener. There will be a tailgate party beginning at 5:00pm with a by donation Bar-B-Que providing burgers and water courtesy of Mr. Mikes SteakhouseCasual – all proceeds of the BBQ will go to the United Way.
