Nature is really weird. Really fascinating, but also really terrifying.

A newly discovered tarantula has a very distinct feature, of having a horn on its back. Found in Angola, it is part of a species known as “horned baboon spiders.”

Scientists have not yet figured out exactly what the horn does at this point in time, but I don’t think I would want to be the scientist who discovers it. Yikes!

Even though it is new to scientists, the spider is not a stranger to the people who live in the area. The spiders are venomous and like to dine on insects. “The venom is not considered to be dangerous, though bites may result in infections which can be fatal due to poor medical access,”
